Who would be so irresponsible and carbon-profligate as to go on holiday ... to Bahrain?"After a long newsletter and attachments last month, this one could well be short, as I’ve just come back from holiday from Bahrain in fact, where the petrol costs 15p per litre and you can imagine how keen people are to conserve it when Saudi Arabia virtually gives it to them! Quite depressing, especially when there is so much sunshine and wind! Politics!!"

Well, not the whole organisation, obviously. Just their Guildford & Godalming branch (that's Hilary, Francesca and Jonty). Actually, to be fair, it was just Hilary. And it was way back in 2005, before anyone had even heard of global warming.
But to get to the sad, awful nitwittery of the rest of the February 2005 newsletter:
Remember to demand biofuel next time you fill up the tank with petrol. Now we (apparently) know that biofuels are BAD, Friends of the Earth has managed to purge the Interweb of all (most) mentions of its campaign for more biofuels -- except for that G&G newsletter. This year, FoE is campaigning against biofuels. Stay tuned for news that petrol is good and evil is evil -- expected some time in 2006.
"Rebecca Smith, Network Developer attended our lively meeting last month. Thanks to all of you that attended and led her to say such positive comments about what a friendly well informed lot we are!."Oh dear ...
(And it's "... all of you who attended ..." Hilary, not "... that attended ..." -- keep your mind on the books and off Pony Club.)
